Principals message
Happy new year Brentwood Families!
I hope your Christmas break was relaxing and you were able to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather we have been getting.
January brings with it changes that are exciting and encouraging. Days are starting to get longer, the Oilers have started playing hockey again and with more people getting vaccinated, an end to COVID is in-sight. I know it’s hard to believe but registration for the 2021-2022 school year
begins February 1st. Please ensure you can access PowerSchool, so you are ready to register when the time comes.
I appreciate the time you took out of your busy schedules to complete the survey that went out last week regarding communication and School Council. My plan is to send out short surveys to our families throughout the year to get your input on various topics.
Thank you to our School Council volunteers for all the work you do in supporting our Bobcats. During our next meeting January 21, I will review our 2020-2021 school fees and will be asking parents for feedback for the 2021-2022 school year. I look forward to seeing everyone.

24hours/day) no later than 8:30am and report the reason for the absence/late. **Thank you.

Kindergarten Registration Starts Soon!
Is your child turning five on or before Dec. 31, 2021? If so, it is time to register for kindergarten.
Kindergarten registration opens for the 2021-22 school year on Feb. 1, 2021.
To help families prepare, Elk Island Public Schools has put together online EIPS Kindergarten Tool kit to make the transition as smooth as possible. The kit includes information on registration, important dates, programming options, what to expect, eligibility, how to find your designated school, transportation and more. Please have birth certificate or current Passport to register.
Returning Student Registration for 2021-22
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) will once again conduct an online returning student registration process to confirm student registrations for the 2021-22 school year. Families of all returning students MUST complete the process to confirm the school their child plans to attend in the 2021-22 school year. Additionally, students who want to attend a non-designated school need to make that request through the returning student registration process—acceptance is based on available space. The 2021-22 returning student registration takes place between Feb. 1-28, 2021.
Access to the Returning Student Registration Form is provided through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Noon hour Supervision Fees for the 2020/21 School Year
Fees for the second quarter have been posted to your PowerSchool Parent Portal. All fees for this quarter are due by November 30, 2020. Any credits on account are automatically applied and reduces the fee(s) owing. To access your fee and credit information, log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and go to “Student Fees.” There you can view your fees and pay online using Visa, MasterCard or INTERAC Online—when available from your financial institution.
If circumstances exist where you are unable to pay your fees, you can apply to have fees waived by submitting an Application for a Waiver of Fees. For the 2020-21 year, the deadline for receiving fee waiver applications has been extended to Feb. 15, 2021.
