Brentwood Elementary School Council
Mission Statement:
"The mission of the Brentwood Elementary School Council is to foster communications with all Educational Stakeholders, including communications between Principal, Staff, Parents/Guardians, Students, School Board, Alberta Learning, other Provincial Organizations, and the Community at Large. It is to inform Parents/Guardians and Students about appropriate means of accessing school decision makers and to provide support for school activities."
Role: By attending monthly meetings, parents can support the school in its work with students, receive valuable information, and represent the view of parents.

Brentwood Elementary Home & School Association
Role: To enhance the educational, social, cultural, and recreational benefits for the students and/or school community at Brentwood Elementary School.
How: With the help of parents and community partners, BEHSA raises funds to help facilitate events at the school benefitting all students. Volunteers also contribute to a vibrant school community.
Why: Being a partner in your child's education helps them to develop pride in their school and community, allows you to meet other parents, and be a part of the school community.
Examples: Monthly Hot Lunch Program, Brentwood In Motion, Special Projects, Milk & Cookies Day

"We see Brentwood School as a vibrant and welcoming community where every child is actively engaged in effective learning and in developing the citizenship skills he or she will require to become a positive contributing member of society."
Role of Parent Council
- Support the school in its work with students
- Represent the views of parents
- Encourage links between the school, parents, students, and the wider community
- Sponsor events that enhance the lives of students at our school
- Help develop pride in the school and community
- Consult other School Councils and Organizations
- Encourage a positive atmosphere where individual contributions are encouraged and valued
What to Expect:
- Monthly Meetings (1-1.5 hours)
**All parents of children attending Brentwood Elementary School are automatically members of BESC, are invited to each meeting, and receive voting privileges.
